Shimba Hills Game Reserve
The Shimba hills Game reserve is located in the Coastal province of Kenya, approximately 50 kms from the city of Mombasa, and 20 kms from South Coast. It is approximately Shimba Hills Lodge, within the Shimba Hills Game Reserve.192 sq. km (74 sq. miles) of parkland, well known as the home of the last breeding herd of sable antelopes. Within the game reserve lies a spectacular tree lodge , Shimba Hills Lodge, overlooking a waterhole, right in the middle of a tropical rain forest. The restaurant and bar outdoors, directly overlooking the waterhole. With Circle K Safaris, it's an easy drive from any beach hotel in the North or South coast! The cool climate within Shimba Hills game reserve is in sharp contrast to the usual humid conditions prevalent in the general coast region.

This game reserve has buffalos, elephants, and leopards. Other animals include bushbuck, bohor reedbuck, sykes and colobus monkeys. Bird life is profuse including little bee-eaters, palm-nut vultures, Fischer's turaco, hornbills and spur fowl.
