Shimba Hills Game Reserve
The Shimba hills Game reserve is located in the Coastal province of Kenya, approximately 50 kms from the city of Mombasa, and 20 kms from South Coast. It is approximately 192 sq. km (74 sq. miles) of parkland, well known as the home of the last breeding herd of sable antelopes. Within the game reserve lies a spectacular tree lodge , Shimba Hills Lodge, overlooking a waterhole, right in the middle of a tropical rain forest. This game reserve has buffalos, elephants, and leopards. Other animals include bushbuck, bohor reedbuck, sykes and colobus monkeys. Bird life is profuse including little bee-eaters, palm-nut vultures, Fischer's turaco, hornbills and spur fowl.

Arabuko Sokoke is 116 kms from Mombasa and 19 kms from Malindi. This game reserve is enriched by birdlife, elephants, leopards, elephant shrews, squirrels, bushbaby's, sykes monkeys, colobus monkeys etc, etc. Arabuko Sokoke is famous for the Scops Owls (or the Sokoke Owl).
