Lake Mburo National Park
Lake Mburo National Park is located in western Uganda (4 hour
drive from Kampala, the capital of Uganda). The park has a
variety of animals such as zebras, impala, buffalos, and
numerous bird species. At 260 kmē, the park is the smallest
of Uganda's savanna national parks.
The park has excellent camp grounds and permanent tent facilities
for visitors. The camping grounds are very popular with visitors
to this park due to the high standards maintained by the staff
at this facility. This is one of the camps Circle K Safaris
uses for clients traveling to this part of Uganda.
The bird species are found mostly near the lake and the sheer
abundance of different species, some quite rare, is a very
rewarding sight.

Mgahinga
Gorilla National Park
Mgahinga Gorilla
National Park is in the far south-west of Uganda near the
town of Kisoro. It is located in the Virunga Mountains and
is conterminous with the Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda
and the Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of
the Congo.
Mgahinga
is one of two locations in Uganda in which mountain gorillas
can be found (the other being Bwindi
Impenetrable National Park). The park has one habituated
gorilla group, although this group sometimes crosses the border
into Rwanda, which means Mgahinga is not a reliable spot for
viewing gorillas. The national park also covers three of the
eight Virunga volcanoes: Muhabura, Gahinga and Sabyinyo, all
of which lie on the Uganda/Rwanda border. Any of these can
be climbed in one day from the park headquarters.

Queen
Elizabeth National Park
The Queen Elizabeth National Park (QENP) is Uganda's most-visited
game reserve. It lies in the west of the nation and occupies
2,000 square miles
from Lake George to Lake Edward around the Kazinga Channel
connecting them. The park is named after Queen Elizabeth II
and was established in 1954.
The park
is well known for its diversity in wildlife. Many species
are found in this vast park, including hippopotamuses, elephants,
leopards, lions and chimpanzees; it is now home to 95 species
of mammal and over 500 species of birds. The national park
includes the Maramagambo Forest and borders the Kigezi and
Kyamburu Game Reserves.
Circle
K Safaris can include this park as part of your overall safari
into Uganda. Worth visiting, especially for birding enthusiasts. |
